15.1 If you have chosen and paid for Gold TravelCover your limits under the following sections are increased as follows. All other terms and conditions remain unchanged.

Section 1 - Travel assistance, Personal assistance service.

1.2.1. The most we will transfer under this policy is £1000 per trip.

Section 2 - Medical emergency and other expenses

The most we will pay for any one claim for each person insured per trip under the policy is £15 million.

Section 3 - Hospital daily benefit

If you make a claim under Section 2 - Medical emergency and other expenses and we agree to pay your claim, we will also pay any person whi is insured under the policy £25 for each complete 24 hour period that they have to spend in hospital as an in-patient.

The most we will pay for each person per trip is £1000

Section 9 - Cancellation or cutting short the trip

The most we will pay for each person insured per trip under this policy is £10,000

Section 11 - Personal baggage

The most we will pay for any one claim is £2,500 for each person insured under the policy per trip of which:

* The most we will pay for any one item or any one pair or set is £750 per trip

* The most we will pay for valuables is £750 for each person insured under the policy per trip

Section 10 - Baggage delay

The most we will pay for each person insured under the policy is £250 per trip

Section 12 - Travel delay

The most we will pay for each person insured under the policy per trip is £250

If you have chosen and paid for Gold TravelCover we will also pay for a maximum of 2 nights necessary additional accommodation. This amount will be deducted from the maximum £250

b) Increased benefits

15.2 If you have chosen and paid for Gold TravelCover your benefits under the following sections are increased as follows. All other terms and conditions remain unchanged.

What is covered:

15.2 The cost of telephone calls you have to make to us in an emergency.

The most we will pay for any one claim is £20 per trip

15.3 Medical transfer.

If a person who is insured under the policy suffers a bodily injury or illness while on a trip solely in the country of departure and has to stay in hospital as an in-patient for more than 24 hours in a row we will:

* arrange and pay for the patient to be transferred to a suitable hospital near to the patient's home when it is medically safe to do so; and

* arrange and pay for a medical escort to accompany the patient if necessary; and

* we will also pay for the additional travelling and accommodation costs for one person to come and stay with you and / or accompany you home if this is recommended by a medical practitioner.

16.4 If your trip is for 3 nights in a row or more and solely within the country of departure the following sections of cover will also apply:

* Section 6 - Personal accident

* Section 7 - Cancelling or cutting short the trip

* Section 9 - Personal baggage

* Section 11 - Money and passport

What is not covered:

These apply to section 15.3 only.

a) Any claim where the trip is for less than 3 nights in a row

b) Any claim where we have not been contacted immediately when the patient is hospitalised

c) Any claim where we have not given our permission before any costs were incurred

d) Any claim where the patient is hospitalised within 50 miles of their home

e) Pre-existing medical conditions(s)

How we settle claims under sections 1-15 if you have chosen and paid for Gold TravelCover

We will not take off the excess from the amount you and we agree will settle your claim

If you make a claim under Section 9 - Personal baggage and / or Section 11 - Money and passport we will not contact your household insurer to ask them to pay their share of your claim.
