Section 4 - Emergency return home
This section of the policy sets out the cover we provide if you need to return home in an emergency.
What is covered:
We will pay all necessary additional travelling costs you have to pay if you have to come home immediately while on a trip abroad and, if required, we will pay for you to go back to your original location abroad within the period of the original trip following:
4.1 the sudden and unforeseen:
* death or imminent death or serious illness;
* hospitalisation because of a serious accident or illness of a close relative in your country of departure during the period of your trip and your immediate return is required.
4.2 accidental damage to or flooding, fire or a burglary at your home
What is not covered:
a) Any illness, death or imminent illness or death of a close relative due to a pre-existing medical condition.
b) Any costs where we have not arranged the transportation
c) Any air travel costs in excess of an economy / tourist class ticket for each person insured under the policy
d) Accidental damage, flood, fire or a burglary which causes less than £1,500 worth of loss or damage
e) Accidental damage, flood, fire or a burglary where your presence is not needed by the police
